Collection: Coach Shack
It is with great admiration & heartfelt respect that I tell you a little about Jessica Shackleford, aka Coach Shack. She is a proud graduate of Summit HS in Mansfield. She has dedicated her career to shaping not only the athletic abilities of young athletes, but also their character and confidence making their future brighter.
Her impact goes far beyond the athletic realm, she has established and maintained lifelong relationships with students and athletes. She has built these relationships on trust, compassion & genuine care for each individual. She is the kind of person kids run to with open arms, eager for a Shack hug. Her personality is magnetic, and her influence is everlasting.
Coach Shack is definitely someone everyone constantly “all-in” person. Whether working with students, athletes, fellow coaches, or staff, she puts her whole heart into everything she does. Her role on our coaching staff is not just important, it is foundational. She consistently strives to make everyone and everything around her better. She does so with integrity, faith, and unwavering dedication.
Her willingness to help others is inspiring. She is kind, resilient, compassionate and strong. Her unique personality makes her easy to love and her generous spirit draws people in.
So knowing all this our hearts were crushed last March when we got the shocking/devastating news. Shack has cancer. Not just any cancer, an extremely rare form of breast cancer.
In true Shack fashion, she has battled like a champ. As of today, she has already undergone 4 rounds of chemotherapy, with 2 more rounds expected, before surgery.
